Like most of the desi community, I grew up running on chai. Three cups a day, heavy on the cardamom or ginger.

But as I got older, I realized the traditional tea base didn't actually suit me. It gave my parents and me acidity-something we all just tolerated because it was the norm. That discomfort pushed me to branch out into other teas such as white, green teas, and oolongs.

It was a lonely pursuit. I was usually the only one wanting to experiment, and when friends met over coffee, I kept asking myself- why not meet over tea sometime?

And i think i figured out why. Tea was positioned as something you drink to meditate, calm down, wind down. Coffee captured the imagination of motivated people who wanted energy and needed a kick. Coffee offered options: plain, with milk, different flavours, different pours and brews. Tea was made to look plain and boring, take it or leave it.

My name's Aditya, and with my partner Mahek, we started Genie Super to change that. We don't think tea needs to prove itself through ceremony or ritual. It needs to fit into how people actually want to drink it, and talk to them without sounding like a spiritual guide.

We built Genie Super for a generation that wants both: a drink that's good for them and genuinely good to drink, not one traded off for the other. That's why we started with matcha. It's already familiar to anyone who drinks coffee, and it gave us a way in with the exact crowd we're building for.

Matcha was the start. We're not stopping there, we want to bring more teas and more flavours to the table, all built on the same idea: taste first, health as standard, not a trade-off.

Genie Super isn't a wellness brand, and we're not quiet about it. We're loud, we're bold, and we want to be memorable, part of your daily routine, not an occasional self-care ritual.
