Hand wash only, using warm water with a mild soap and a soft cloth or sponge. Skip the dishwasher; it can strip the interior coating and warp the seal. Rinse thoroughly so no soap residue is left behind, since it can taint the flavour of whatever you store next. Dry it completely, inside, lid, and rim, before storing or refilling. Tins are prone to rusting or clouding if any moisture is trapped, and a damp tin will clump your matcha instantly. Leave it open to air-dry fully (a few hours, lid off) rather than wiping and sealing it right away.
